Ice with Silly and Kevin

Nice day out with two great friends to Evan Thomas Creek. The pictures explain themselves so I won't bore you with more 'ice climbing' talk. :)

Firewood Day

Well, the 'crate' stock for the wood burning fireplace at Kent and Blair's finally went up in smoke! This forced a mandatory trip to the woods to retrieve some firewood for the continued enjoyment of this gas flame lit beauty of a fireplace. With the welcomed help of Kyle the 'ankle' Pepper and his burly 4x4 Dodge, we headed out to an undisclosed location near the Ghost River just west of Waiparous, AB about 16km's down a logging road, to load up on free Lodge pole pine from a blow down area on the perimeter of a cut block that was harvested a few years ago. Kent 'smiles' Taylor was pretty vibrant when we pulled up to the jackpot and started gearing up in preparation of man handling a truck load of logs destined for the city and one thirsty fireplace!  Kimmer 'buzzcut' Heidel took charge of the Ryobi and developed a quick love affair with the sexy log cutter and jumped in with both feet first. Kyle the 'ankle' Pepper pulled out his handy measuring tape and sized up the logs for a snug fit into the box of his half ton so we could maximize our payload. Kent 'smiles' Taylor was our designated hauler and made it all happen at the truck end of the project. Nice day out with my Calgary family! More adventures to come.... :)

Kent and Blair's house warming party

What a nice time at Kent and Blair's house warming party. I went a little early and helped out with preps plus got a nice visit in with some of the cousin's before the festivities began. The crew picked up a disco ball and fog machine and Marc set it all up downstairs with disco music to boot. It turned out to be a fantastic addition to the dated era of the party room, with the bar set up also playing an integral role in setting the ambience for the party. Marc took it one step further and snapped some excellent photos, most of which I've borrowed to complete this blog entry. Thanks Marc :) The captions with each photo will fill in some of the story from the night, the rest of the stories will lay hidden in the memories of those who were present, and the photo's I didn't post here. Enjoy!!
